two statements by Anne Dao

The French colonization of Viêt Nam was her big forbidden dream and long-distance, full-scale fantasy ; it lasted the time of a tempting then forsaken civilizational taboo ; now bitterly and dearly, almost tenderly remembered.

Europe is now dead and burried, but who knows if it might relive one day and walk on Earth again ; dreams of renewed dominance are pointing through the polls and minds accross the lagged-behind Old Continent ; spirits are away but somehow always come back.
